Mitt's Speech

Mitt Romney gave an inspiring speech today. He spoke of freedom and the values that made this country great. Romney showed that his faith is important to him and makes him who he is. While his faith isn't the same as mine (or the evangelical base) he made clear that his values are the same: "Perhaps the most important question to ask a person of faith who seeks a political office, is this: does he share these American values: the equality of human kind, the obligation to serve one another, and a steadfast commitment to liberty?" Please watch the video.

wow. very impressive. The look, the speech ability. This convinced me that he could actually be president.

Here's my prediction (sticking to previous predictions)...

Romney/Thompson loses in a close call to Obama/Edwards. Mark it down- 12/13/07 Thus saith Rudi.

I've reiterated for over 2 years that Obama will be our next president- and he looked politically dead a month ago, but thanks to the Oprah train, this man is going places... much to my dismay.

I'd absolutley love a Romney/Thompson ticket- they compliment each-other very well.

So pessimistic. I still think you're wrong on two counts: Hillary will get the nomination, despite all her campaign screwups. The media will let her slide as long as she doesn't bash Obama too much. I think there's a possibility that Romney could ask Thompson to run with him, but there's almost no chance Obama would ask Edwards. Edwards does nothing for him, just ask John Kerry. Check out George Will's column on how VP's are chosen, it's pretty interesting.
