Nerdy Fun

Here's a great game my brother Nate turned me onto: Fantastic Contraption. It's described as a "fun online physics puzzle game," which sounds suspiciously like homework, but it's pretty fun.

Sorry, I've been on a golf trip in northern Michigan since Wednesday night with some college buddies. I listened to Romney, Giuliani, and Palin on the radio Wednesday, but missed McCain on Thursday.

My favorite part was when Giuliani talked about Obama's response to the Russian invasion of Georgia:

“Obama’s first instinct was to create a moral equivalency - that 'both sides' should 'show restraint.' The same moral equivalency that he has displayed in discussing the Palestinian Authority and the State of Israel.”

“Later, after discussing it with his 300 foreign policy advisors, he changed his position and suggested that the the UN Security Council, could find a solution. Apparently, none of his 300 advisors told him that Russia has a veto on any UN action. Finally Obama put out a statement that looked …exactly like John McCain’s three days earlier.”

“Here’s some free advice: Sen. Obama… Next time, just call John McCain.”


McCain has gotten a huge boost from the convention and from choosing Palin. She has brought a lot more energy and enthusiasm to the ticket. It will be interesting to see how the media/Obama campaign comes after Palin now. Their initial effort obviously backfired big time. Attacking her as inexperienced only highlights Obama's lack of experience and gives her opportunity to share her accomplishments. Attacking her as a mother just made women angry. McCain used to trail Obama with white women, now he has a big lead.
